Brave Bodies is a new mobile physiotherapy provider servicing the South West region of Western Australia from Busselton to Margaret River. Our aim is provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy, with a focus on NDIS funded paediatric services. As a mobile physiotherapy service we provide therapy in the home, or community that aims to improve functional mobility, working towards the tailored goals of the client within a collaborative and family centred framework.
Brave Bodies is founded by Ruan Swart (MSc Physiotherapy) and Tarryn Roberts (BSc Physiotherapy). We have several years of experience working in Perth and the Northern Territory. We now call this beautiful part of the world home and are very excited to be bringing our service to the region.
Mobile physiotherapy brings physiotherapy services directly to your child's familiar environment, be it your home, daycare, school, or even a local park! This eliminates travel time and allows your child to feel comfortable and relaxed during their therapy sessions.
Physiotherapy can play a vital role in supporting your child's development and well-being. It can help improve your child's:
Mobility and movement:
Physiotherapists can help your child develop stronger muscles, improve coordination, and increase their ability to move around independently.
Balance and coordination:
Improved balance can help your child feel safer and more confident when participating in everyday activities.
Functional skills:
Physiotherapy can help your child develop the skills they need to perform daily tasks, such as dressing, bathing, and playing.
Overall well-being:
By improving physical abilities, physiotherapy can also boost your child's confidence and self-esteem.
In-home physiotherapy offers several advantages for children:
Comfort and familiarity:
Being in their own environment can help children feel more relaxed and at ease during therapy sessions.
Convenience:
Eliminates the need to travel to a clinic, saving you and your child valuable time.
Flexibility:
Appointments can be scheduled around your child's routine, minimising disruptions.
Personalised environment:
Therapy can be tailored to utilise your child's existing home equipment and surroundings.
Mobile physiotherapy can be covered by the NDIS. However, at this stage Brave Bodies is not a registered NDIS provider. This means we can only service plan-managed and self-managed participants. We cannot service NDI-agency managed participants. We have supported a number of clients to change funding types if this is in the best interest of the family and child.
We primarily focus on children, teens, and young adults. However, we are open to seeing adults on a case-by-case basis.
At Brave Bodies, we have extensive experience working with children of all abilities. We understand that every child develops at their own pace, and we're passionate about creating individualised programs that promote mobility, function, and confidence. We consistently participate in ongoing professional development, ensuring we are up to date with the latest research and clinical practice guidelines.
