These precious early years, from babyhood through the toddler stage, are a time of incredible growth, learning, and discovery. At Brave Bodies, Early Intervention means providing timely, specialised support tailored to your little one's unique journey, helping them build a strong foundation for a bright and confident future.
We understand that every family wants the best for their child. Our philosophy is built on 'Partnering with Parents, Empowering Children.' We believe that by working closely with you, using gentle, play-based, and evidence-based approaches, we can make a significant positive impact. Our compassionate and experienced paediatric therapy team is here to provide clarity, expert guidance, and unwavering support if you have any questions or concerns about your child's development.
As a parent, you are incredibly attuned to your child's development. If you've found yourself wondering about any of the following, an early assessment with our experienced team can provide valuable insights and peace of mind:
You have concerns about how your baby is moving, or if they are having challenges meeting their developmental milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, or taking their first steps.
Your baby is moving on one side more than the other, or they have a preference of using one arm or leg more than the other.
Your baby often prefers to turn their head to one side, or you've noticed a persistent flat spot on their head (Plagiocephaly/Torticollis).
You're worried about your child's muscle tone – perhaps they seem very floppy, overly stiff, or have difficulty with activities like tummy time.
Your toddler seems to have challenges with balance or coordination, or perhaps they fall more frequently than you might expect.
Your child has difficulty playing with toys in an age-appropriate way, using their hands for fine motor tasks (like grasping or pointing), or exploring their surroundings.
You've observed that your child is particularly sensitive to, or strongly seeks out, certain sensory experiences (like touch, sounds, movement, or textures), and it seems to impact their comfort or daily routines.
You simply feel that something isn't quite clicking with your child's development, and you'd like professional guidance and reassurance.
At Brave Bodies, we offer specialised paediatric physiotherapy designed to meet the unique developmental needs of babies and toddlers. Our approach is always gentle, play-based, and in close partnership with you, focusing on your child's strengths and your family's goals.
Our approach to infant physiotherapy is grounded in developmental science and aligns strictly with evidence-based practices and professional guidelines, such as those from the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). This ensures the safest, most appropriate, and effective care for your little one’s developing body, giving you peace of mind. We also empower you with practical strategies and activities to support your child's progress in your everyday routines.
Our highly skilled Paediatric Physiotherapists, including our Early Intervention Lead Dr. Annie Chappell, are experts in infant and toddler physical development. We use gentle, hands-on techniques and purposeful play to help your child:
Achieve important gross motor milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling, and those first exciting steps.
Address specific early concerns like Torticollis (wry neck/head preference), Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome), and positional Talipes (clubfoot).
Improve muscle tone, strength, balance, and coordination for confident exploration and play.
Develop skills for confident and joyful movement.
We provide service to babies, teens and young adults from 0-25 years old. We are a paediatric service but we recognise that some young adults still need a paediatric approach to their care.
We see a wide range of conditions and diagnoses. These include but are not limited to: developmental delays, baby neck or head issues, sporting injuries, scoliosis, hypermobility, autism spectrum, cerebral palsy, acquired brain injuries, genetic disorders plus more. Please contact if you are unsure if we can help!
Each child's goals, needs, and family capacity is unique. Therefore we take a tailored and individualised approach to your child. We can provide intensive therapies, coach you as the parent or their care givers in the therapy strategies or provide maintenance therapy.
For sure, we always encourage parents to get involved with their children to get the best results. Parents are provided tools and resources to guide their children at home.
