Frequent Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment?

No, you do not need a referral to see our Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists. You can reach out and book with us directly. However, if you are hoping to claim Medicare rebates through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, you will need a referral from your GP before your first session.

My child doesn’t have a formal diagnosis. Can we still see you?

Absolutely. You do not need a formal diagnosis to access our services. If you feel that something isn't quite right with your child’s development, movement, or daily routines, your instinct is enough. We focus on supporting your child's functional challenges and goals, regardless of whether there is a specific label attached.

Do you accept NDIS funding?

Yes, we actively support families using NDIS funding. Currently, we can see Self-Managed and Plan-Managed participants. We are actively working toward full NDIS registration, which means we cannot currently accept NDIA-Managed (Agency-managed) funding. You can view our NDIS rates on our Pricing & Cancellations page.

What is the difference between Paediatric Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy?

In simple terms:

- Physiotherapy focuses on movement and the physical body. We help with things like rolling, crawling, walking, building strength, coordination, and managing physical injuries or conditions.

- Occupational Therapy focuses on participation in daily life. We help with the everyday "occupations" of being a kid, like playing, handwriting, self-feeding, toileting, emotional regulation, and processing sensory information.

Often, our Physios and OTs work closely together to support your child's overall development!

How do the mobile therapy sessions work?

We know clinic visits aren't always practical. Our mobile sessions bring therapy to the environment where your child feels most comfortable, whether that is your home, their school, or daycare. We bring the necessary equipment and integrate the therapy into your child's natural environment. We travel across the South West; you can view our full list of mobile locations on our Contact page.

Do I need to be present during the therapy sessions?

Yes. As outlined in Our Story, our approach is deeply "family-centred," which means we view parents and caregivers as the most important members of the child's team. Being present allows you to learn the strategies we use so you can confidently continue supporting your child's progress at home.

(Note: For mobile home visits, an adult over 18 is required to be present for the duration of the session)

What happens during an Initial Assessment?

Our first priority is making sure your child feels safe and comfortable. The initial assessment is a relaxed, play-based observation of how your child moves, interacts, and processes tasks. We will chat with you about your concerns, your child's medical history, and what your daily routines look like. Together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and create a tailored plan for ongoing support.

What age group do you work with?

We support infants, children, and young people from 0-18 years of age. Our approaches are strictly tailored to your child's specific developmental stage, from early play and motor skills for babies, to mobility and sports injury support for teenagers.

Can I claim sessions through my Private Health Insurance?

If your private health insurance policy includes 'Extras' cover for Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, you may be eligible for a rebate. We will provide you with an itemised receipt containing the necessary provider numbers for you to claim directly with your health fund. You can read more about our payment options here.

What is a "Discovery Call" and how do I book?

A Discovery Call is a free, no-obligation 15–30 minute phone chat with a member of our team. It gives you the chance to tell us about your child, ask questions, and see if our services are the right fit for your family before committing to an initial assessment. Simply fill out this enquiry form, and we will be in touch within 2 business days.
